So I feel that I should explain may to our avid reader(s).  I was going to be the May champion.  I was going to handle it, even though a full 2/5 of the team was bailing out.  And then, I ruined my roof.  You see, the hinge pin that the May race rested upon was the big truck restoration project in my garage.  You see, my garage was the only place left that we could feasibly work on the Lemon.  I went out there and worked like a fiend for like four days after the kids went to sleep desperately trying to get rid of the truck.  All four days worked towards one goal: ruining the roof of the truck.  I now have a washboard that I created after seeing the tiniest little fissure in the metal.  Now I have set myself back at least two/three weeks.  Combined with two work trips, one of which took the entire weekend and the beginning and end of the coincident weeks, and it's over.  My lovely wife asked me yesterday if both the truck and the Lemon would fit in the garage - bless her - but it would be tight and unpleasant.  Especially for the three others that have the schedule to accomodate May.

So, that's it then.

I'd mentioned prior to the February fiasco that I was likely not going to be able to make the May race. Some friends of ours are getting married that weekend, and besides that I have a bathroom that needs remodeling and a garage I want to build. So it just wasn't going to happen, for me. Brian had mentioned that if the car holds together in February, and not a lot of work was required, they _might_ be able to field the team without me. I was for it, since I like to have the car out there and a part of LeMons at CMP. But after the engine died a terrific death, I was resigned to May not happening. Others were perhaps more optimistic than I. I wish optimism would have ruled the day. But, apparently it isn't to be. September, anyone?

Well, if you need help with the truck and/or Lemon getting it done, I could lend my services as I have nothing else going on currently. Of course, it'll cost you... my expenses coming down to help. I'd otherwise say don't worry about it and offer my assistance, but I can't afford to come on my own without any help. It would give me something to do though and I'd also learn valuable experience in destroying roofs, and who knows when and where that would prove useful!
