I am a bad blogger.  My brother set this blog up for the Tunachuckers and we had a handful of people who checked this thing semi-regularly.  And then, like that...it was gone.  After last September's race the blog fell into disarray.  Spam.  Hackers.  Eventually it went down altogether.  But, I had my computer literate brother (Kevin) renew it and I'm determined, this time, to keep it going.  Like a Volvo Amazon, it'll keep chugging along.

February, 2011.  It was this month back in 2008 that the Tunachuckers began their adventures, many of which have been chronicled by none other than yours truly.  It seems like forever ago that I drove down to Atlanta to pick up our rusty old 122 from that nondenominational minister.   Since then we've done 5 races, won a bunch of trophies, and had a blast- which is really what it's all supposed to be about.  Low key, low stress, low budget racing.  High fun to dollar ratio.

After the Volvo plowed into the Duff Beer Civic at the September 2010 race, we brought the car back to my house and dumped it under a pine tree.  The front subframe is bent up badly, causing the front tires to toe out about 30 degrees.  The steering shaft is bent.  The unibody is tweaked.  And, when Winter hit come January, the car became covered in about 6 inches of snow.

While we tried to reboot our team for 2011, The February race at Carolina Motorsports Park beckoned.  Carless, we had to sit this one out, but Judge Phil and Chief Perpetrator Jay were kind enough to let me help out as an assistant Judge at the race.  Phil has some posts and pictures from his perspective at The Truth About Cars (search for articles by Murilee Martin) and he and I both cruise the 24 Hours of LeMons Forums.  And I've decided to post some of my own stuff, here.  So check soon- I've got over a hundred pictures, videos, and some hella good stories.

And maybe we'll figure out how to get back on the racetrack this year.
